"We only try to control what we do not trust." - Glennon Doyle
The "Through Thinkers" and the "Gut Thinkers".
The Through Thinkers, leading with logic, precision, and patience. Each ring of the ladder is measured as not to waste time taking unnesaary detours. The fork in the road is never tempting enough to distract from the mapped trail, the Through Thinker takes pride in their focus. This is not to say they do not take allotted risks, however, there is intention behind their action.
The Gut Thinker leads with an instrinsic voice that does not always have a rhyme or reason. Intangible pings of discomfort bubble up at the thought of settling for any version of life that feels like a performance. Born into a world that tells us again and again that our feelings are not to be trusted, gut feelings ignored feel trapped in the body like a balloon full of hot air.
With the our sense of self trust severed, we grasp at the straws of control.
